Dalitiwan Resort: A Hayahay (Relaxing) Experience in Majayjay, Laguna

Browsing FB, I came across one picture of Dalitiwan Resort and I fell in love with it instantly!

Looking at the photos of the resort’s FB page, I knew for sure that a new adventure awaits us going there. We did have good times in our past summers spending in a pool resort or a hot spring somewhere in South. But swimming in a river with flowing water is something new to try!

Sure enough, my family’s summer did not pass by without having to experience Dalitiwan Resort in Majayjay, Laguna.

It was a spur-of-the-moment decision going there. I was only able to make reservation thru a phone call via resort’s mobile no.

This first encounter with the resort’s staff definitely gave a good first impression on me. Marissa, who answered my call was cordial and eagerly answered my queries. She agreed to reserve a room for us even without making a reservation fee when I explained we are already packing-up to go there.

Leaving Manila, I was positive that Dalitiwan Resort will be a worth-while vacay.

Going there

It was a long trip though. Good thing GPS aided us in this 120 km, more than 2 hrs trip.

Taking SLEX, we exited Sto.Tomas then took the Milgarosa-Bucal bypass that lead us to Los Baños.  We traveled the road to Nagcarlan, Liliw and finally arrived Majayjay.

Dalitiwan Resort is quite hard to spot since you will recognize it thru its signage. From the entrance gate, guests must still tread down a few meters to reach the reception area.

Staying there

We left Manila late afternoon and arrived night time. Kuya from reception attended to us immediately and was nice enough to allow us see the available rooms. We decided to stay in Casa Franco (read further for room details).

Swimming is not allowed in the river after 6 pm, but we still had the chance to experience the fresh water in their flowing pool that’s open 24 hrs. It was totally refreshing after a long trip.

Now sleeping and waking -up  hearing the sound of gushing water, cool wind and humming crickets? A certified  hayahay experience in Dalitiwan Resort

All of us were excited to see the whole place under the sunlight, so we didn’t waste and made round of this naturesque place.

Here’s what this hidden paradise has to offer guests.

River is just 2 to 3 ft. So kids can enjoy splashing to it (with adult supervision). There are rocks under the water so caution should be observed.

What to bring?

Kitchen utensils – resort does not provide

Sunblock – though it’s freshwater, the place is mostly open air with direct exposure to sun

Insect repellent – yest there are mosquitoes, flies, dragonfly, and other insects including frogs.. what to expect when you’re close to nature

Comfortable footwear

There are sari-sari stores nearby where basic things can be bought. If you’re planning to go to the market or grocery, it’s quite far from the resort.
