Philippine Savings Bank (PSBank), Metrobank’s thrift bank launches a very useful technology called ATM Lock !
To better protect their clients from different ATM frauds such as unauthorized use, theft, skimming, and other card-initiated electronic fraud, PSBank is providing additional protection with ATM Lock aside from the usual ATM PIN (Personal Identification Number).
As what PSBank Senior Vice President / Marketing and Customer Experience Group Head Emmanuel Tuazon said –
“Our clients’ security and convenience are important to us. With the PSBank ATM Lock feature, which they can perform anytime, we are able to provide our clients a simple and reliable tool that would protect their hard-earned savings from ATM card-related fraud incidents,”
In their aim to provide a a seamless banking experience for their clients, PSBank ensured that ATM Lock will be a timely and a convenient tool by making it a mobile-based service.
PSBank also made it hassle-free since there’s no need to download a separate app for PSBank Mobile app users. This feature will be readily available in the improved PSBank mobile app, which can be downloaded via Google Store and Apple free of charge.
With ATM Lock , clients will now have the ability to:
- Closely monitor ATM transactions
- Control access on their ATM with its Lock and Unlock facility
How does ATM Lock, work?
With ATM Lock, clients can now lock their ATM cards from use for as long as they prefer and unlock them when needed.
For clients who will lock their ATM using the app, they will automatically a transaction request confirmation through the app. The client’s registered email address will also receive further notification of the transaction.
Now here are some pointers to remember for ATM Lock users:
*** The lock and unlock feature applies only to the ATM cards of clients with either single or multiple cards linked to an account.
*** Account holders with locked ATM cards will NOT be able to use them for ATM or point-of-sale (POS) transactions nor make online purchases that require clients to provide the ATM card number. On the other hand, cardholders can still pay bills and transfer funds through PSBank’s internet banking facility, PSBank Mobile or over-the-counter.
*** The PSBank ATM Lock service is EXCLUSIVELY for PSBank Mobile App users and for clients who have accounts linked to a PSBank Regular ATM card, PSBank Debit MasterCard or PSBank Prepaid MasterCard
*** It is also available to PSBank Online users by simply activating their mobile access
I am a PSBank depositor myself and I have both used PSBank Online and PSBank Mobile App. Both platforms have been reliable and easy to use for my banking needs.
